'VICE' out on Vertigo
Records Monday 13th September 2004
After all the talk and bluster, the band that have been surrounded by
hyperbole from their very inception, proved to their doubters that they
were more than worthy of the accolades.
Razorlight have in their short career hit more targets dead on and achieved
more goals than most band's could dream of.
Razorlight's previous single 'Golden Touch' went straight to the heart
of the charts at number 9, it remains to this day, firmly embedded on
the Radio One A-list and is currently the third most played track on the
station.
The debut album 'Up All Night', on the day of release, went straight into
the Official UK midweek Charts at Number One and stayed in the album Top
Ten for weeks - it has taken barely over a month for the album to hit
'gold' sales-status.
September 13th 2004 sees the release of the follow-up single 'VICE'.
Fans are already in love with the track and it was received at Glastonbury
Festival to rapturous applause, along with the four giant golden balloons
that were released into the crowd, spelling the word L.O.V.E.
Johnny Borrell has even recorded his phone number into the track - the
VICE line.
Fans can call him direct and Johnny has spent hours on the phone speaking
to hundreds of people about their vices!
As has come to be expected, the single B-sides are just as valid and include
Razorlight's version of Outkast's 'Hey Ya' and a gospel version of 'Golden
Touch' both of which were taken from their performance on Jo Whiley's
Live Lounge, earlier this summer.
As international obligations take hold, Razorlight will be making UK appearances
throughout the autumn, including playing to a total of 7000 people in
London in just one week, when they headline at the Brixton Academy and
the Astoria (already sold out).
