The JETHRO TULL Christmas Album.

I don't own a great number of Christmas Albums.
I have one by Thijs Van Leer who fronted the band FOCUS, (remember them !!) which is very pleasant and I have one containing all the hits….I programme the CD Player to play the only decent tunes on it over and over again.
By my reckoning there are six on the album and one of them is entitled 'Ring out Solstice Bells'.
Is there any point in getting into an argument as to which is the best ever Christmas song ??
'NO' is the short answer.
But what about the best album ??
The answer to that is......... there is no need to get into an argument over it.
There is only one and it is this one, "Christmas Album" by Jethro Tull.
From the opening notes to the very end this is a phenomenal record and I love every second.
The season of Christmas bursts out of every piece but……………..don't be fooled !!
There are serious messages contained in the songs also.
Reminders not to forget the poor (you might be one of them one day!!) and the consequences of over indulging.
New songs sit comfortably with reworked favourites and Christmas Carols. The band is brilliant, musicianship of the highest quality as we have come to expect.
This record is a gem and I enjoyed it many times over the Christmas period
(cooking Christmas Dinner was a pleasure with this playing away !!).
If you have not heard it yet put it on your list for this Christmas.
I cannot wait for December the 1st 2004 when I shall begin once more to play it over and over again !!
