The Loose Cannons
‘MAKE THE FACE’
July 12th 2004
Island Records

Irrepressible young London funk fiends cum superstars in the making THE LOOSE CANNONS, are set to unleash their debut album ‘Make The Face’ on the nation on July 12th on Island Records. The set includes their massively acclaimed singles ‘Superstars’ and the recent club banger’ ‘I Like It When Ya…’,The Cannons have continued to cause a stir across UK dancefloors and airwaves over the past 12 months with their own unique sound, picking up fans along the way from the broadest possible spectrums; from Jo Whiley & Zane Lowe to XFM or KissFM to The Sunday Times & Smash Hits via the likes of Mark Ronson and Basement Jaxx on the club front. And that is just the tip of the iceberg…

‘Make The Face’ is the distinct soundtrack to life in the bustling metropolis in 2004, Listen as Kaiser Saucy and Lord Fader guide you to their world of love, lust, grime, hedonism and exultation - all the usual daily grind. Imagine if you will, the world of Outkast, had they spent their childhood in South London during the Thatcher years, and you are pointing in the right direction…Or imagine how Scissor Sisters would sound had they grown up listening to Bootsy and NWA, whilst chasing girls around instead of listening to all those early Elton/Joel records.

The Loose Cannons are your “Dirty pop” saviours. Purveyors of the purest in Rhythm + Dirt. In a po-faced world - The Loose Cannons make music fun for girls & boys of every feasible persuasion. Now make the face…

The Loose Cannons have just completed a series of dates up and down the country as special guests to the Scissor Sisters, as well as performances at Homelands, Return To New York, Cock Live, Miami WMC and many others. They have also been confirmed to perforrm live at this year’s Glastonbury, Lovebox, Reading/Leeds, Secret Garden festivals, in Ibiza at Manumission and elsewhere throughout the summer...

Solidifying their status as one of the hardest working young bands around, The Loose Cannons also continue to DJ across the country each and every week with residencies at Harlem, Kinky Funk, The Elbow Room, Marketplace, Chinawhite and others, all slotted in amongst their hectic live schedule. You cant afford to miss their hedonistic and flamboyant live experience before it blows up to the next level.
