Riding in Bands With boys.
A road rock documentary of the best kind.
This is a great journey to join in a "rough road band that we always dreamed
of doing" sense.
The band is Kut U Up.
They are the underdogs.
Fate has delivered them a wonderful ace card.
To be the underdog band on a tour with Blink 182, Green day and Jimmy eat World.
They are unknown and fans of the above.
They have nothing to lose and are determined to make the most of the tour by
getting as stoned and drunk as possible and to fuck about as much as they can,
simply because, they can. They are the nobody band. They have nothing to lose.
So they can take the piss. Big Time.
They come from different backgrounds and outside the band have different intellects
and abilities. But for now, they are in a band and they have a tour to complete.
So it's, let's get in the back of this van and hit the road.
Booze, drugs (alledged) , bad socks and farts aside, they live, sleep and tour
in the back of the van. No glam tour buses. They have'nt earned that privelige.
Nobody knows who the fuck they are and why the fuck they're here anyway.
But they may yet win the day.
They are "supporting" some major acts, albeit on the street, and their
reputation will become known as the tour continues.
This is as good a rock documentary as you will find. The editing is as superbly
executed as you could wish, making the whole show instantly professional. Also,
these are really funny guys. Really nice guys. No egos, No pretensions. As I
said , nothing to lose. They are out for the party as well as playing their
music to the masses. The feature bands like them, which helps, but they are
still contained to the toilet end of the tour and don't give a damn.
Road clichés aside this is as good as it gets for rock programming and
for fans of the bands headlining you get to see enough of them plus some real
entertainment on the side. For lovers of rock and behind the scenes stuff, you
will love it. For lovers of anarchic humour, yeah, go for it. This film works
on all sorts of levels and would not be out of place in any ones collection.
This is a five star must have DVD. A film you will not regret buying because
you will watch it again and again.
